Removable Partial Denture (RPD)
A removable partial denture is an alternative to restore multiple teeth. This type of restoration is less expensive but may look as natural or but not as functionally similar to the implant-supported denture.
Rather than lying entirely on the edentulous ridge like complete dentures, removable partial dentures possess clasps of chrome or titanium metal or plastic that "clip" onto the remaining teeth, making the RPD more stable and retentive.
Implant Dentures over Traditional Regular Dentures
An implant-supported denture is a type of overdenture that is supported by and attached to implants. A regular denture rests on the gums and is not supported by implants. Traditional replacement of a complete set of upper or lower teeth (arch) using a dental implant is completed over multiple visits. Placement of the dental implants will be used to support your replacement teeth. Temporary teeth may be placed while the dental implant integrates with your natural bone to form a strong foundation for your replacement tooth.
